Bad Mama

The Greek equivalent of Hell is doing the same thing over and over again without getting anywhere. That's what the last few days have been for me. Dutch doesn't sleep and all he wants to do is eat. I mean that literally. He cries if he does not have food in his mouth at all times. It has been the most exhausting and frustrating time in my life because he just can't seem to get full anymore. I'm beginning to wonder if my milk is adequate for the little guy. Luckily tomorrow we see the pediatrician and I can see what's going on. I just don't know what to do.

Last night I literally got 3 hours of sleep - all in 10 minute increments.

He might be going through a growth spurt. You can supplement with formula after you feed him just to get him full. Or you can pump after you feed him to see how much you get. Don’t give up, things will get better. Let me know if you have any questions, I work on an Infant unit and have plenty of lactation specialists at my disposal.

Talk to them about reflux. Is he gassy or pukey? Both of the girls cried if they weren't eating until we got their reflux under control. Nursing is very soothing to them. I am sorry I love you!

I didn't think about the reflux, that is a good possibility. Babies with reflux usually always want to eat to ease the pain. Good luck, luv ya lots!

I agree with Heather. Anneke and Luke have both suffered when they were Dutchie's age. (Marcus did too, but when we was 7 months old.) See what the doctor says.

Wow Cat--you were so right with your diagnosis! That's amazing!
Oh Pammy--you're so great! Maybe I can come out for the blessing; is it still over Labor Day?
