After we took the side of the crib off to make Jamison's crib a toddler bed, someone told me that there are tents you can put on top of the crib. Buy one of those, and let me know how it works.
This is the reason we got the board for the door. Carianne was a terrible sleeper and sometimes she slept in front of the door, but at least she wasn't wandering around the house doing terribly destructive things (which she was doing before the board). Her room became a big playpen.
I highly recommend "Making Your Children Mind Without Losing Yours" by Dr. Kevin Leman. It is hilarious, realistic and deals with infants up to teenagers. I love it and go back and reread it about once a year. Seriously, everything I do as a mom comes out of that book. It changed our lives 7 years ago when I bought it. I love you!
Ours is a family of 6: Chris the husband/daddy, Pam the wife/mama, Dutch the handsome little boy, Dane the troublesome toddler, Captain Buddy the little dog, and Oso the big dog.
